Allison Shinnick Keep is a visiting assistant professor of music at Hope, where she teaches courses in piano and aural skills.

Dedicated to refining her teaching practice, Allison received extensive pedagogical training at the New School for Music Study in Princeton, New Jersey, where she served on the faculty for four years. She has also held graduate teaching assistantships at the University of Missouri 鈥 Kansas City and at the University of Michigan. Allison has contributed to the greater pedagogical community through her conference presenting, writing and as the former digital communications and engagement coordinator at the Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy.

As pianist, her solo and collaborative performances have been heard across the U.S., Germany, Spain and Japan, and in venues such as Orchard Hall (Tokyo), Helzberg Hall (Kansas City), and Carnegie鈥檚 Weill Recital Hall (New York City). Recipient of various prizes and awards, Allison was a finalist in UMKC鈥檚 Chancellor鈥檚 Concerto Competition, a finalist in the Chautauqua Piano Competition, and winner of the Lawrence University Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. She is also an avid choral accompanist and currently serves as accompanist for SPERA.
