Academics Lecture Will Reflect 10-Year Quest to Understand an Art-World Icon
The storied life of the founder of Boston’s famed Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum will be the focus of an illustrated lecture at 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 5:30 p.m. in Winants Auditorium of Graves Hall by Dr. Natalie Dykstra of the English faculty, whose recent biography of Gardner has been receiving national acclaim.

Academics 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ Receives Grant to Help Prevent Plastic Litter from Entering Waterways and the Great Lakes
The Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences at 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ and the Ottawa County Road Commission are partnering to trap and study roadside litter entering storm drains. Equipment was provided by the charitable arm of the Council of the Great Lakes Region (CGLR) in the United States, the CGLR Foundation, through a grant to 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ thanks to generous funding from Michigan-based Dart Container Corporation, a leading manufacturer of sustainable beverage and food packaging solutions.

Academics Neuroscientist Leah Chase Receives NSF Mid-Career Research Award
Dr. Leah Chase, professor of biology and chemistry at 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳, has received a Mid-Career Advancement award from the National Science Foundation in support of her ongoing research on the fundamental biochemical mechanisms that cells, particularly the brain’s cells, use to combat oxidative insult and injury.
